Rose Of Choice ($4) is yet to appear on course competitively this season but has maintained status as outright favourite in 2015 Dark Jewel Classic betting markets with Ladbrokes.com.au ahead of Calming Influence ($5.50) and kiwi raider Diademe ($7).

Will Rose Of Choice post a first-up win in the 2015 Dark Jewel Classic or will one of her talented rivals find the line in the clear?

1st

Calming Influence ($5.50)

Calming Influence has returned to racing in competitive form, has been confirmed to be partnered by leading hoop Hugh Bowman and will carry just 54kgs in the 2015 Dark Jewel Classic, and is therefore more than worth consideration for a bet at current $5.50 odds for success. Finishing outside the first three only a handful of times through her 15 career starts so far, the Commands mare carried 56kgs for third in the Group 3 Darley Crown (1300m) last weekend, and while needing some luck in running from barrier 11, will be very tough to beat under the conditions on Saturday.

2nd

Diademe ($7)

Diademe will leave from the central barrier 8 with in-form hoop Blake Shinn aboard in the 2015 Dark Jewel Classic but has been charged with carrying a race-high 59kgs and may find the late going a little too great for success. Finding exceptional condition this time in, the Savabeel mare finished fourth in the Group 1 NRM Sprint (1400m) in her native New Zealand on February 7th; progressing to success in the Group 3 Westbury Classic (1400m) before completing an amazing performance when caught wide for the entire race to win the Group 1 NZ Thoroughbred Breeders’ Stakes (1600m) on April 4th. Receiving a good tune-up when eighth in the Group 1 Queen Of The Turf Stakes (1600m) on April 11th, Diademe offers great value as a selection in a Dark Jewel Classic quinella or trifecta bet.

3rd

Scorpio Queen ($21)

Scorpio Queen is yet to post much of a consistent run of form over four starts this time but is a proven performer over the distance and will leave from the ideal barrier 1 on Saturday, and therefore offers punters the best value for money in 2015 Dark Jewel Classic betting markets at $21 for success or $5.90 to finish in the first three. Having run a close second to Group 1 winner Laser Hawk in the Group 3 Newcastle Newmarket Handicap (1400m) most notably this time on March 18th, the Choisir mare is sure to be boosted by veteran hoop Robert Thompson and will also carry just 54kgs.
